Gear pumps use two intermeshing gears to move the product through the pump, making them ideal for handling viscous or highly abrasive liquids. These pumps are also very accurate and are able to maintain consistent flow rates, making them well-suited for high-volume production lines.

One of the main benefits of gear pumps is their ability to handle very abrasive liquids, such as paints and adhesives, without causing damage to the pump or the product. In addition, they are often less expensive than other types of pumps and are relatively easy to maintain. However, they can be less efficient when it comes to handling low-viscosity liquids, such as water.
